Tasting - Liberty Service Dog Red

Liberty Service Dog Red
Chambourcin, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot
Virginia
2011
$12.99

Wine review: This dry red wine is blended from some of Virginia's finest grape varieties, Chambourcin, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Bursting with deep flavors and aromas of blackberry, blueberry, black cherry, and plum, Liberty features a long finish with hints of toast and spice. This sumptuous wine is a worthy tribute to Liberty. Aroma: Blackberry, blueberry, cherry, plum. Palate: Same as aroma. Finish: Long, toast, spice. Blend of Chambourcin, Cab Franc, Petit Verdot.

My review: Dark purple and red color. Blackberry and dark plum on the nose. This wine provided raisin like aroma with hint of dark cherry and plum. It was well balanced between sweet and dry, hence it was a semi dry wine. Smooth mid palate and short and light finish at the end. It will go well with any meat dishes with medium sauce, such as roasted beef, medium creamy pasta, and grilled steak.
