Tasting - Villa d'

Villa d'
Rosso Toscano
Montepulciano, Italy
2012
$6.95

Wine review: 100% sangiovese grapes and is a wonderful rendition of a velvety Tuscan red.

My review: Finally, I got to try an Italian wine, Sangiovese. It's other name is Chianti which is known for mass produced and cheap wine, but I was glad to try this wine because it is Sangiovese!
Dark cherry red and medium color red wine. Light caramel, candy, smoke, and oak on the nose. Smooth on the mid palate and medium dry with relatively long finish. It was my first time trying an Italian wine, and it was well balanced sangiovese. It will go well with medium cheese or red meat dishes or light sauced chicken pasta.
