Tasting - Vidal Blanc

Vidal Blanc
Vidal Blanc, Traminette, Riesling
Virginia
2011
$10.99

Wine review: Fresh citrus aromas, infused with apples and a subtle suggestion of grass float from the glass. Crisp pear and ripe melon fills the palate, layering with juicy pineapple in this delightful light- to medium-bodied wine. Bright acidity lends a clean finish, glimmering with grapefruit, and ending with delicate lime notes.

My review:  Clear and light golden color. Sweet and strong apple and hint of orange on the nose. Sweet and off dry wine with light body followed by light finish. I was able to pick up plum, orange, and apple aroma on the mid palate, but not strong enough to well balance the wine. It was clean and light wine that will go well with meat dish with light sauce, such as roasted beef, creamy seafood, and light cheese.
