Tasting - Maipe

Maipe
Malbec
Mendoza, Argentina
2012
$8.95

Wine review: Deep purple color with violet tints, complex plum, fig, strawberry, spices and floral aromas; rounded and velvety tannins, excellent length with a distinguished character.

My review: Malbec. The beginner's wine! But, I was also told that it's getting good review nowadays for higher tier wines. Very dark berry/purple color. Earthy, smoke, and hint of creamy candy on the nose. This Malbec was a medium body with good balance between acid and tannin aroma / taste. Smooth and hint of vanilla with long finish. This wine will go well with any meat, medium creamy pasta, or even meat pizzas.
